A New Era: Bucks Release 2026-27 Schedule as Milwaukee Adjusts to Life After Giannis

MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Bucks dropped their 2026-27 schedule this week, and the headline isn’t really the dates. It’s what this season means: a full reset.

The Schedule

The Bucks open on the road against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, Oct. 21, followed by their home debut Friday, Oct. 23, against the Chicago Bulls. The regular season runs October through April, with 14 back-to-back games and a six-game homestand from March 29 to April 8. Single-game tickets went on sale Aug. 14.

Everyone’s Watching the Miami Games

Two matchups against the Miami Heat are getting national TV coverage — the Nov. 18 road game airs on ESPN, and the Jan. 28 home game streams on Amazon Prime Video. That’s not a coincidence: Giannis Antetokounmpo, the face of the Bucks franchise for over a decade, was traded to Miami in June.

A Real Access Win for Milwaukee Fans

Buried in the schedule news is something Milwaukee sports fans should actually be excited about: for the first time in 31 years, the Bucks’ full season airs on over-the-air television, across MY24 and regional Wisconsin affiliates. No League Pass required. That’s a meaningful shift for fans who’ve been priced out of watching every game.

What We’re Watching This Season

This is a genuine new era for the franchise — not marketing language. Urban News Journal will cover this season honestly: what a post-Giannis roster looks like on the floor, not just in press releases.
